The Men’s Group Costa Rican Mission Trip took place over Memorial Day weekend.  Jonathan Kassebaum, Joey Presutti, Shawn Lenahan, Tom Anson, and Trey Sikes from the Crossing Church partnered with Spencer Boulter and 6:8 Ministries.

As soon as we got to Alajuelita, we went on a prayer walk and delivered some food to one family who had a particular need.  All the families we visited asked for prayers for health and work among other more personal requests.

The next morning, we visited Verbena, where we played and worshiped with the local kids, and then passed out over 80 meals.  We jumped rope, colored, painted finger nails, played soccer, and then walked over to the feeding center to worship and pass out meals, including “fresca,” a local sweet cold drink for dessert.

We also checked in on the location of the recent fire that burned down several homes.  You may have seen the post from Spencer on Facebook about this fire.  Crews were hard at work rebuilding.

We headed out to the ranch to see the progress and help with a welding project.  There are all sorts of interesting jobs on a working ranch.  That’s Spencer welding in shorts and flip flops, and Josh McArthur showing us how to milk one of the ranch’s goats!

We made it back to Alajuelita and had some deep discussions about the trip, the church, the mission, and where to go from here.  Please ensure that you include the McArthur family in your prayers as they work through the process to adopt a Costa Rican child into their family.

Thanks to Spencer for putting together a short but packed and busy trip!  Thank you also to Jonathan, Joey, Tom and Shawn for taking the time to go down and show the people of Costa Rica God’s love.

Check back soon for an update on the youth trip with 6:8 Ministries!
