Have you ever heard or maybe you’ve thought about church, “If I go to church, the whole place will probably burst into flames. If I go to church the whole place will burn to the ground.”?
It’s said as a joke, but there’s a serious question behind it: “Can I be so bad or so far from God that I’m beyond God’s limits?”
You may not have said it out loud, but haven’t you asked yourself, "Have I gone past the point of no return with God? Have I drifted too far for God to actually want me? Have I committed the unforgivable sin? Am I too bad for God to forgive me?"
Maybe you’ve thought, "My addiction has been so strong, I guess God can’t fix it. My marriage has been in such trouble, it’s a lost cause. My friend, neighbor, coworker, child, brother has been beyond defiant and antagonistic toward God. It’s over for them. He/ She is (I am) a lost cause.
In this series called “No Limits”, we are going to look at 6 people in the Bible and ask, “Are there limits to who God can change? Is there a point beyond which God can’t or won’t call, forgive, change, restore, and give new life? Is anyone a lost cause?”
